‘The Mother Gardener’ Print

The narrative here expresses the subtle yet powerful language of symbology. The piece was inspired by the Divine Feminine, not as some distant cosmic being, but right here with us. Toiling, laboring and getting her hands dirty as she tends to each of her children, helping them bloom.

Artist’s Note:

“In creating this Flow Series, I sought to emphasize how like a flower, we do not need to be in constant bloom to experience growth. Inspired by the Hebrew concept of hope, which signifies active waiting or surrendering to the moment and to Heaven, this series reflects on the beauty of anticipation while being present. It’s a contemplative collection that invites viewers to trust the process, appreciate the good in the now, and connect with the divine flow. May we learn to flow like a flower.”

I imagine Heavenly Mother and divine motherhood in relation to a gardener…
Tending to and nurturing growth in each of her children.
Instead of some distant cosmic Deity, I wanted to portay how CLOSE she is.
By painting her without an obvious halo, here with us, and feeling exceptionally relatable in her love for her children.

Toiling…Caring…Lifting…Cultivating…Getting dirty…Laboring…Loving…
Each flower a representation of her children, a blossoming result of her tender love.

‘Mother Gardener’

My Mother kept a garden,
a garden of the heart,
She planted all the good things
that gave my life it’s start.

She turned me to the sunshine
and encouraged me to dream,
Fostering and nurturing
the seeds of self-esteem…

And when the winds and rain came,
she protected me enough—
But not too much because she knew
I’d need to stand up strong and tough.

Her constant good example
always taught me right from wrong—
Markers for my pathway
that will last a lifetime long.

I am my Mother’s garden.
I am her legacy-
And I hope she feels the love
reflected back from me.
